Oh Abby!!

Abby came home two days before James' surgery!  She is a beautiful girl who trusts no one!  She is coming around to me :)  A good girl with lots of potential and some old training we can bring back, she just has been ignored for years...poor baby!
~Danny doesn't love that I give her more love than him...He likes me to scratch his bum!
I know this makes me Happy!  I also know it makes me neglect my responsibilities!  Oh Well :)

"It's a Perfect 10!"

  • Brandon Douglas did so well at the fair again this year. . . "I was never late for barn duty, and no one yelled at me"  Not words his Mother would use to describe his year. . . but he was so excited.

  • He had  F U N  the whole week.  He liked the pigs the best and he also had fun with his Grandparents.  I am so proud again of him, he does his barn duty then stands (or sits) with his pig and asks families that walk by if they are having fun and if the have any questions about pigs :)

  • So Cute!! I can't even begin to wrap my mind around my baby who was so shy and clingy as a baby, be so independent and strong!
 Way to Go Mr. B!

Christian Thomas also took a pig to the fair this year!  He did an awesome job, especially as a 1st Year Showman!  He had a lot of fun and met a lot of new friends in 4-H.

He also got a purple ribbon as a 1st year Poultry Showman!  A H U G E feat, even if he did not have a V E R Y uncooperative duck!  He truly did A W E S O M E!

He was not sad when he sold his pig at the Stock Sale. . . "I get a big check"  and he brought home is almost perfect Call Duck to breed.  (She looks almost perfect, she really has a horrible disposition)
James and I are so proud!

Way to go Boys!!

Thanks SO much to the McQueary's for a wonderful Long Weekend!!

We visited, and laughed, and played like we had no responsibility!  ~So much fun!

We all played at the beach. . .and swam . . . (sept for Christine...the chicken)  It was a beautiful day!

We all ate too much all weekend, and played hard, and relaxed!  I am so thankful that you all drove all the way up here to hang out!

We went out to dinner at the Olive Garden...and again ate too much!  It was so good :)
We all decided to go for a walk to work off the OG, and we ended up jumping off of a cliff! (Ill post those pictures soon!)

What a beautiful family!  We love you guys! Come back soon!!

James and I went to Julyamsh on Saturday Night. I learned the hard way...dont take literaly 150 pictures, with beautiful shots of the sun setting behind the Grand Enterance...with no CF card in your camera!!

All of these shots are AFTER I discovered my mistake, and was truely sick to my stomache at the mistake I made! James is right, at least these folks were strangers, and it was not something I committed to do for a once in a lifetime event. UUUGGGGHHH, I still get light headed thinking about it :(

Well, lesson learned! (The Hard Way of course, that is how I learn!)
This post is old (from July)...I thought It went out and it didn't...oops!

Summer Baseball

The little ball player, is in season 2 of baseall this summer :)

This was a double!
He is so quick! He has real skill as an athlete for sure!
and this is how you look smug. . .when you are proud of your double and your family is cheering for you :)  ~Way to go Riley John!!

Our "School's Out Camping Adventure"  went so well!  The Kids all had fun, we all fished, we cooked over the camp fire, had smores every night...doesn't get much better!

Christian met us up there, the second night, and fished like crazy!  Fresh trout for lunch. . . . . . Y U M M Y !

Even Cheyanne was fishing, and gutting her own fish...so cute, using her feet!

Riley & Brandon played in the sand, and the water . . . and only argued once :)

I think everyone, except the Grown Up's got buried in the sand. . . and no one threw dirt :)

Priest Lake in Idaho Camp Ground Site . . . Kids . . . Sun . . . Summer. . . makes for LOTS of fun!!

~Thanks honey, you had a great idea, and we all had fun!

I Love You Mr. Rushing!

Thank You for All You Do for Us!
I sometimes take for granted how much you do for me, and for us.  Working all of the time (I know you think you don't work a lot, but you do) :) and then the work you do for us and the Ranch.  I appreciate that our "relaxing weekend" consists of removing trees, moving animal fencing, repairing the shop wall from our mini tornado :), then a movie, grocery shopping, and dinner at home! ~all on Sunday
I love you, and I appreciate the man you are!  Thanks for being you!!

Winter in Our Backyard

It's cold, and wet, and we have only had about 2 feet of snow this winter...but it is still beautiful at our house :)

I know it sounds crazy, but I'm praying for snow at my house in February!

The snow is so pretty, and the rain only makes MUD...at my house, with all of the boys, and animals...it is truly yucky!

Snow....Snow....Snow....Snow....Snow!

(: Please :)

~Life Lessons~

Ok, so far 2010 has given us some great lessons that I must share! Some of you have already heard about our incidents...but some of you have not :)

Don't put pins in your mouth while sewing...although I am now betting that the chances of my swallowing more than one in my lifetime have better odds than my not continuing the lifelong habit...I did learn that if you do it, there is a consequence...a large hospital bill, even after insurance, and a bit of recovery time.

Don't pour gas into a carburetor of a running truck...again, a lesson I'm sure we should already know :) but...sometimes the truck backfires in the carburetor and your hand gets burnt...ouch is an understatement!

HDTV...as nice as it is, it changes the "reality" of TV...all of the actors and actresses look really allot older in hi-def...which in turn makes me feel older...and football is a whole new sport when you can see the dimples on the football :)

Do spend time with your family and children...we have been playing games in the evenings...like Yatzee and Sorry, and we all have enjoyed our time as a family...and the kids are faster at adding the dice than I am :)

~Enjoy your life...you only get one, make it the best you can with the time you have :)
